Paid position from Dec 2019 – Feb 2020 with FI Innovations in Invercargill
Research Intern required for a paid 400-hour research project over summer with FI Innovations in Invercargill. Project will involve Additive Manufacturing (SLS 3D printing) and Advanced Composites (carbon and other exotic fibres).
Open to students or graduates of Engineering, Science, Design or Business courses (NZQA Level 7 or above).
Design and test a lightweight, ergonomic version of a large industrial spanner used at an aluminium smelter, using 3D printing and composites.
Other related research topics may be considered.
